Switchboards & distribution
Switchboard alterations and upgrades, additional distribution, circuit protection improvements, new outgoing circuits and capacity-related electrical work.
AESS supports businesses, workshops, warehouses, commercial properties and industrial sites with electrical maintenance, upgrades and planned project work. From a difficult fault to a switchboard or new equipment supply, we can assess the existing installation, define the scope and carry the job through to completion.
Commercial projects are rarely just one fitting or one circuit. They often involve coordinating electrical supply, controls, equipment connections and staged work around an operating site.
Commercial sites evolve. Equipment gets added, tenancies change, lighting ages, switchboards fill up and yesterday’s electrical capacity becomes tomorrow’s limitation. AESS can handle the day-to-day work while also identifying and completing the more substantial upgrades that keep the site useful.
Switchboard alterations and upgrades, additional distribution, circuit protection improvements, new outgoing circuits and capacity-related electrical work.
New supplies, isolators and electrical connections for commercial and industrial equipment, with the existing installation assessed before significant new load is added.
Commercial lighting upgrades, additional power, dedicated circuits, external lighting and practical alterations to suit the way the site is being used.
Electrical work for refurbished offices, workshops, warehouses, retail or service spaces, including changes as businesses grow or tenants change.
Diagnosis of recurring trips, failed circuits, equipment supply faults, lighting problems and other electrical issues that need more than parts swapping.
Defined electrical projects where access, shutdowns, staging, materials and site impacts can be planned before the tools come out.
Before connecting new machinery, air conditioning, EV charging, kitchen equipment or another part of the building, it is worth checking whether the supply and distribution system is actually ready for it.
A dedicated new circuit is not always the entire answer. The upstream switchboard, submains and available supply also matter. AESS can review the relevant parts of the installation before a large new load is committed to.
Where the work allows it, AESS can plan access, shutdowns and stages around the way the business operates. Some jobs can be isolated to a small area; others need an agreed shutdown. The important part is knowing which before work begins.
Identify what needs to be isolated, what will be unavailable and how long the critical portion of the work is expected to take.
Larger alterations can often be broken into preparation, installation and changeover stages to reduce interruption.
If site conditions alter the planned scope, we would rather explain the issue and options than quietly turn a defined project into a surprise invoice.
AESS is based in Toowoomba and works across surrounding regional Queensland. The exact travel and response arrangement depends on the project, site and type of work.
Some industrial and fuel-site electrical work carries an extra layer of hazardous-area requirements. AESS has EEHA-accredited capability for inspection, rectification and installation work where that specialist competency is required.
If a larger commercial job includes a hazardous-area component, tell us early. We can identify the boundaries of the work and make sure the electrical scope is approached appropriately.
Discuss hazardous-area workUnderstand the problem, the desired outcome, operational constraints and what the business is planning next.
Inspect the relevant electrical installation and define what needs to be repaired, altered or upgraded.
Agree on access, shutdowns, staging and the commercial scope before the critical work starts.
Carry out the electrical work, test the completed installation and close out the job through the agreed process.
No. AESS carries out normal commercial maintenance and fault finding as well as larger upgrade and project work. If a small fault reveals a larger underlying issue, we can scope the bigger job rather than handing it off.
Yes. Where the scope can be properly defined, AESS can quote planned electrical work. Diagnostic, exploratory or open-ended maintenance work may be better handled as charge-up work until the fault or required scope is known.
Where a project genuinely needs work outside normal operating hours, this can be discussed as part of planning the job. Availability and the agreed commercial arrangement will depend on the site and scope.
Yes. Before major new loads are connected, AESS can assess the relevant switchboard, distribution and available electrical capacity and advise what additional work is required.
Yes. AESS completes three-phase circuits, equipment supplies and associated commercial and industrial electrical work where required by the installation.
Yes. AESS has EEHA-accredited capability for hazardous-area electrical inspection, rectification and installation work where the site requirements call for it.
Tell us what the site is trying to achieve, what equipment or upgrade is involved and any operational constraints we need to work around. We can start with the electrical scope and build the right job from there.
